How Climative Insights, Navigator and Advisor Work Together

Climative’s platform includes three products that cover a home retrofit program from planning to completed assessment. Climative Insights identifies which homes to target. Climative Navigator gives each homeowner a personalized upgrade plan. Climative Advisor connects homeowners with energy coaches by video. Organizations can deploy one product or combine all three.

The Climative platform is powered by the Automated Climate Model (ACM).

Governments, utilities, banks, insurers and program designers

Ratings and upgrade scenarios for more than 1 million buildings per day

Climative Navigator

An online portal that gives each homeowner a personalized home upgrade plan, which partners can white-label or co-brand

Insights, Navigator, and Advisor run on Climative’s Automated Climate Model (ACM), a machine learning system that estimates a home’s energy use, emissions and climate risk from fewer than 10 inputs. A traditional on-site assessment requires more than 200.

How do Climative's three products work together?

Each product handles one stage of a retrofit program. A full deployment looks like this:

  1. Insights assesses every home in a community, service territory or loan portfolio and flags the homes with the highest energy use, emissions or climate risk.
  2. Navigator reaches those homeowners with a personalized upgrade plan, matched to the incentives, financing and offers the partner organization provides.
  3. Advisor converts interested homeowners into completed assessments, with an energy coach guiding a virtual walkthrough of the home.

The products share one data record per home. A homeowner who refines their details in Navigator improves the data a coach sees in Advisor, and the partner sees outcomes across its whole portfolio in Insights.

Organizations often start with one product. Banks might begin with Insights for financed emissions reporting. Utilities and governments might begin with Navigator and Advisor to support an existing efficiency program, and use Insights to make outreach more efficient.

Which Climative products do organizations need?

How utilities and governments use Climative

Utilities and governments use Insights to size the retrofit opportunity across their housing stock, then Navigator and Advisor to move homeowners into programs.

NB Power used Climative to generate Level 1 estimates for all 260,000+ low-rise residential buildings in New Brunswick. Homeowners then completed live virtual assessments with NRCan-registered Energy Advisors. Participants rated the platform 8.4 out of 10 for ease of use.

An EfficiencyOne project compared remote assessments with traditional on-site EnerGuide assessments. Remote assessments took an average of 2 hours against 7 hours on-site, including travel, modeling and administration. Emails promoting a remote assessment drove 9 times the program enrolment of emails promoting an on-site visit. Homeowners rated the remote experience 9.5 out of 10.

The Government of Prince Edward Island tested a Climative-powered Home Energy Portal from March 2024 to March 2025. Of surveyed users, 97% said the service would be valuable for PEI homeowners.

How banks and credit unions use Climative

Banks use Insights to measure financed emissions at the building level and Navigator to turn that data into financing conversations with homeowners.

This Top 10 Bank used Insights to raise the data quality of its financed emissions estimates for its BC residential inventory from PCAF Data Quality Score 4/5 to Score 3. Results aligned with historical on-site EnerGuide audits at a mean percentage error of 1%. Vancity, Canada’s largest community credit union, reached the same Score 3 without requiring any data from homeowners.

Scotiabank launched the Home Energy and Advice Tool, powered by Climative, on April 21, 2026. The tool is available to all homeowners in Canada and gives each one personalized upgrade guidance based on their home’s characteristics. The first 100 Scotiabank clients were offered free virtual energy coaching.

How insurers use Climative

Insurers use Insights to measure property-level climate risk across a book of business and Navigator to give policyholders specific actions that reduce that risk.

Wawanesa Insurance launched a wildfire resilience pilot with Climative in June 2026, the first of its kind from a Canadian insurer. Policyholders receive personalized wildfire risk insights and a prioritized list of protective actions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an organization use Navigator without Insights?

Yes. Navigator generates each homeowner’s upgrade plan from the same Automated Climate Model that powers Insights, so a program can launch Navigator on its own. Insights adds portfolio-level data for program design, targeting and reporting.

What if my organization just wants building-level data?

Banks, insurers, governments, and utilities can use Climative Insights, an API-based data platform that gives access to building-level energy, emissions, climate risk, and retrofit data for portfolios and communities.

Is Navigator branded for each partner?

It can be. Partners can offer Navigator under their own brand, co-branded with Climative, or as Climative Navigator. Scotiabank’s Home Energy and Advice Tool and Wawanesa’s wildfire resilience tool are co-branded instances.

How accurate is Climative's data?

Climative is a category leader in data accuracy and reliability, proven in projects. In the TD Bank Group pilot, Climative’s estimates aligned with historical on-site EnerGuide audits at a mean percentage error of 1% and a mean absolute percentage error of 14%. Climative is a PCAF Regional Accredited Partner, and its data meets PCAF Data Quality Score 3.

Does Advisor replace an on-site EnerGuide assessment?

Advisor supports remote assessments delivered by energy coaches and registered Energy Advisors. It works alongside on-site assessments and reduces the time an advisor spends on travel and administration, leaving more time for coaching homeowners.

Where is Climative available?

Climative operates across Canada and the United States with over 11 million homes already on the plaform.
