Climative builds low carbon plans

How AI Is Used in the Clean-Tech and Prop-Tech Space: Climative Interview with Info Tech Research Group

When asked how Climative is using AI to change the prop-tech industry in a unique way,  Winston Morton said, “AI allows us to give homeowners personalized retrofit advice about 100x faster”.

Winston had a 45-minute conversation with AI Research Analyst Lavisha Dasani as part of Info Tech Research Group’s AI Thought Leader Interview series. The lengthy discussion covered a lot of ground, including AI use cases that address urgent needs like climate change and energy poverty.

Climative creates low-carbon plans for homes using AI-powered virtual home energy assessments. This personalized advice makes the retrofit process easier for homeowners and provides powerful data to the industry that supports homeowners.

“Our big advantage is speed. The current approach to home energy assessments is manual. It will take us 90 years just to gather the data we need to know what types of home upgrades to prioritize,” said Winston, “We do it much faster with AI-powered virtual home energy assessments and engage earlier with citizens and help streamline the complicated retrofit process. There’s a big gap between how things are done today and what can be achieved with better data. We need to spend $1 trillion in the next 20 years to reach net zero – we have a lot of work to do”.

Winston says it’s about more than meeting climate targets – it’s about supporting under-served populations.

“We can evaluate what types of home retrofits would be best for certain demographics, incomes, and for communities with different energy rates,” said Winston. “Our home energy and carbon data can be combined with census data to design inclusive programs, minority programs.”
